Preface

Information systems are important tools for actuaries, as they make it possible to automatically perform complex calculations on large data sets. In this context, an essential skill lies in the ability to express solutions to actuarial problems using appropriate computational tools. This course aims to provide actuaries with a set of computational tools and techniques applied to actuarial data, namely, manipulation, visualization, and analysis of large data sets. Students will acquire skills with the help of specialized software such as R and Microsoft Excel.
