Abstract: The EU 2020 strategy establishes child poverty as a key priority, pointing out the importance of the problem for the society as a whole. Despite the increasing interest of the social scientists for the analysis of child poverty and its importance in the political agenda, there is a lack of consensus on the methodological framework that has been used to investigate the problem. The methodological issues concerning the concepts and the measurements that have been used are summarized in this seminar. Our aim is to give an overview of the topics that have been investigated in this context and suggest potential developments.
