Abstract: Essential ingredient of the optimal control theory, the Pontryagin's maximum principle states the necessary conditions for optimality under some assumptions. In this context, optimality means to find among all admissible controls the control for which some functional takes the least possible value. In this seminar I will focus on the main ideas and strategies of the Pontryagin's proof of its maximum principle.
