TitleCoupled cell systems
ParticipantsPedro Tiago da Costa Soares (Principal Investigator)
SummaryA coupled cell system is a dynamical system that respects a network structure. In multiple fields,
the interactions between entities can be represented as a network. The coupled cell systems assign a
variable for each entity, and their direct dependence is given by network connections.
The network structure distinguishes different types of entities and interactions, allowing for
heterogeneous and homogenous networks with symmetric or asymmetric interactions. And the coupled
cell formalism reflected the different types of entities and interactions. Thus, this formalism is
suitable for sciences, e.g. neuronal networks, population models, coupled oscillators... We intend
to study general dynamical properties that can be explained/obtained by the network structure.
