| Summary | The berth allocation problem is greatly affected by the uncertain arrival times of the vessels. Thus, it becomes essential to take such uncertainty into account when solving the problem to build reliable solutions. One way of doing that is to use a distributionally robust optimization (DRO) approach, which has never been applied before the berth allocation problems in bulk terminals. However, DRO models are usually computationally heavy, which creates the need to develop efficient solution methods. This is the main goal of this project. |
