Title | Treatment Effects with Spatial Data |
Participants | Fernando Pozzobon, Isabel Proença (Principal Investigator) |
Summary | Treatment effects and program evaluation methods are important topics within econometrics for estimating the causal impact of policies, programs, or events. Despite a considerable body of literature on the subject in general, particularly concerning spatial data and the consideration of spatial dependency and interactions among locations, the literature is scarce. This project aims to bridge this gap by developing treatment effect methodologies for spatial data, relying on spatial econometrics techniques to effectively account for spatial dependencies. Additionally, it endeavors to enrich the field with empirical studies utilizing both established methodologies and innovative approaches introduced herein. This project is closely aligned with the Ph.D. research pursuits of Fernando Pozzobon within the framework of the MAEG Doctorate program. |
