SummaryThe PRIIPs (Packaged Retail and Insurance-based Investment Products) Regulation aims to improve
retail investor protection by providing basic pre-contractual information to retail investors.
The necessity of the PRIIPs regulation is linked also to the notion of design risk, previously
introduced in the literature by the PI, in the sense some of the so-called “structured products”
need in fact to be analysed deeply as they may even be ill-conceived by the issuers.
This project looks into the possible issues of design risk associated with auto-call type of
structures.
