| Summary | The main objective of this research project is to develop methodology to assess whether a potential explanatory variable has a nonlinear effect on a response. The way we intend to approach this is by combining traditional variable selection in a normal regression setting with methods that we have recently been developing to screen a computer model for active variables. How do we combine these two methodologies to formally answer the question at hand? |
