TitleDistributionally Robust Optimization for the QCSP
ParticipantsFilipe Rodrigues (Principal Investigator)
SummaryWe aim to study real-world optimization problems where some parameters are not exactly known. In
particular, we intend to study the Quay Crane Scheduling Problem (known as QCSP) under uncertain
parameters such as the handling times of the vessels. Handling times of vessels are naturally
uncertain parameters since they are highly affected by several factors such as weather conditions
and mechanical failures. The QCSP is one of the most important problems in container terminals,
which justifies the relevance of its study. Distributionally robust optimization (DRO) is a very
recent technique used to deal with uncertainty in real-world problems. In this research, we aim to
use the most recent distributionally robust optimization techniques to solve this problem.
