TitleDetecting statistical regularities at International Large Scale Assessment education studies
ParticipantsNuno Crato (Principal Investigator)
SummaryThe twenty-first century witnessed an extraordinary development of International Large Scale
Assessment (ILSA) studies. These studies have been performed since the last quarter of the twentieth
century, but never since the first OECD Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) study
in 2000, they have been so generalized, thorough, and detailed.
This project wants to contribute to the understanding of the complex statistical relationships
existing between countries characteristics and policies and results of the various ILSA studies. It
will contribute methodologically to explore cross correlation analysis ways of selecting influential
variables and to a better understanding of the education and economic development complex
relationships.
