| Summary | This project concerns the Ph.D, thesis of André Sousa which aims to contribute to the microeconometrics panel data literature by researching several methods and econometric applications, using Portuguese firm-level information. Business investment in Portugal has received increasing attention from several national and international entities, since public incentives for investment were created. One goal of the thesis addressed in this project enhances to contribute for the discussion of investment determinants in the Portuguese case, using nonlinear models, such as a two-part model and possibly parametric and nonparametric estimators. Special attention will be given to deal with endogeneity in estimation due to unobserved heterogeneity. |
