TitleThermodynamic formalism of random dynamical systems
ParticipantsJochen Bröcker, Gianluigi Del Magno (Principal Investigator)
SummaryThe composition of random maps acting on a manifold is called a discrete-time random dynamical
system. Random dynamical systems model the evolution of systems when random effects play an
important role on the dynamics. The ergodic theory of random dynamical systems aims to identify the
random invariant measures of the system and to study their properties. One fruitful approach to this
problem, called thermodynamic formalism, consists in studying the spectral properties of a proper
class of transfer operators of the system. The aim of this project is to accomplish such an analysis
for discrete-time random dynamical systems with hyperbolic behavior, such as random piecewise
expanding maps and random hyperbolic automorphisms of the torus.
